Sydney Dusek

OWNER/PRIMARY THERAPIST

HELLO!

I’m Sydney! I am deeply passionate about connecting with and supporting people in their own journeys towards healing, overcoming, understanding, and ultimately, connecting. I enjoy working with people of all ages, races, genders, sexualities, and cultures and my practice is based in values of curiosity, inclusivity, and acceptance.

My credentials and trainings are listed below, but I am most eager to tell you what you can expect in therapy with me. I find insurmountable value in the mind and body connection and much of my work embodies connecting to and better understanding this relationship. This means I incorporate a lot of mindfulness and somatic practices in my work, where safe and appropriate. In building a deeper connection and sense of trust in ourselves, I have found that our relationships become more enriched, and we are more grounded in our personal resilience. This has further informed my passion and love for tea sits. I also operate from a systemic lens as I want to understand you in the context of your world. Consequently, whether we are working together one on one, within partnership(s), or as a family, I will work to understand how experiences, hardships, systems, and relationships have shaped each of you.

Some fun things!

Outside of my work, I love spending time with my family and friends, curling up on the couch with a great book, enjoying outside activities or sitting for tea. I believe in lifelong learning, the power of listening to understand, and connection with others and try to embody this in my life both professionally and personally.

  • Sydney has such an exceptional ability to sit with you through the hardest of times with such warmth and safety. Working with her it feels like the hug you didn't know you needed.

  • My wife and I have been seeing Sydney for the last 3 years. She has helped us with many ups and downs. We’ve brought up everything from thoughts of separation, changing jobs, starting a new business, to unexpected family growth. Sydney was able to provide tools and help us navigate these difficult situations. She frequently gives great analogies to help us see our situation in a clearer way. It has tremendously helped my wife and I understand each other better when trying to communicate. This has trickled down to helping the way we communicate with our kids. My wife and I really appreciate her neutral, level headed approach to couples consulting

  • Sydney has been beyond helpful in helping me navigate some challenging life transitions over the past three years. She is kind, empathetic, understanding, and supportive. She provides a warm and welcoming space to share, and I'm never worried about being judged. Her analogies during sessions have provided me with new perspectives and helpful visuals when processing the thoughts, feelings, and patterns surrounding my changing circumstances. I always look forward to our sessions together and am incredibly grateful to have found her as a counselor!
